Reflexology Massage

Reflexology is the practice of applying pressure to and massaging certain areas of the feet. The aims is to encourage a healing effect on other areas of the body, including organs, glands and muscles, and improve general health and wellbeing. Most of my clients find my reflexology treatment to be very relaxing often feeling quite sleepy towards the end of the treatment. Very occasionally people feel nauseous, anxious, or tearful, but this is only temporary and is considered to be part of the healing process.

There are many reasons why people choose reflexology. It promotes relaxation, improves circulation, reduces pain, soothes tired feet, and encourages overall healing. Reflexology is also used for post-operative or palliative care with many cancer patients used reflexology as a complementary therapy. The reasons and benefits of receiving reflexology though are many and varied and include:

• Stress and stress-related conditions
• Tension headaches
• Digestive disorders
• Arthritis
• Insomnia
• Hormonal imbalances
• Sports injuries
• Menstrual disorders, such as premenstrual syndrome (PMS)
• Digestive problems, such as constipation
• Back pain
