Dermaplaning clears the way so skin peels, facials, skin products and serums can get down into the skin where they need to be rather than sitting on the skin’s surface. It removes peach fuzz / vellus hair and creates clear channels into the skin as well as a soft, smooth surface for makeup to glide on flawlessly.

As we age, our cell turnover decreases and this affects our skin texture and tone, Dermaplaning gently buffs the top layer of dead skin cells away helps to reveal a brighter and smoother complexion.

How does it work?

Dermaplaning uses a surgical blade to perform a deep exfoliation. The edge of the scalpel is used at a 45-degree angle to scrape the build-up of dirt and oils in and around the skin and vellus hair.

The vellus hair is completely removed during the process leaving skin ultra-smooth and creating the perfect base for make-up application.

What can I expect during the treatment?

After eye makeup is removed the skin will be double-cleansed to create a clear canvas for treatment. Skin is then blotted and degreased using an oil-free toner. The dermaplaning procedure is methodically carried out working the whole face one area at a time. After the dermaplaning is complete I will apply a serum or moisturiser depending on skin type and a lip and eye product to finish.

The treatment is completely pain-free and no downtime is required.

Are there any side effects?

Dermaplaning is a very safe procedure. Skin is stretched during the procedure and the blade is always held at a 45-degree angle to reduce the risk of nicking the skin with the blade. If you have dry patches of skin, a small amount of serum is applied to enable the blade to glide across the skin smoothly.

The skin may be a little pink immediately after treatment due to being stretched but this normally subsides within an hour or so.

Peach fuzz / vellus hairs do not come back thicker and stronger. It will grow back at exactly the same rate, thickness and texture as before

How many treatments would I need?

Dermaplaning treatment can be carried out every 3-4 weeks and removal of peach fuzz / vellus hair and dead skin can be achieved with a single treatment.

One of the main benefits of this advanced facial is that it can be paired to enhance the benefits and results of other treatments such as skin peels, microdermabrasion, enzyme treatments, oxygen therapy, transdermal therapy or vacuum therapy. By removing the build-up of hair, oils, dirt and dry skin it increases penetration of product and complementary therapies meaning quicker, better results.

For best results, I recommend a package combining Dermaplaning, Microdermabrasion and Oxygen Therapy.

What results can I expect to see?

Dermaplaning is the ultimate glow treatment, the skin is instantly ultra-smooth, glowing and refreshed, When combined with other therapies results are amplified.

Prior to booking your treatment with me, please ensure you have read and understood the following Booking Terms and Conditions.

Arriving For Your Appointment

Please don’t arrive early for your appointment as there is limited seating facilities. Extra time has been allowed between appointments to allow me to ensure all surfaces are sanitised between clients.

Cancellation and Rescheduling – General Information

Cancellation by You

I believe in having a simple, clear policy when it comes to cancellation and rescheduling of appointments. This helps prevent any confusion. Please note that using social media (Facebook, Instagram etc) is not acceptable as a suitable method of cancelling or rescheduling your appointment. You should cancel or reschedule using the booking system or if that is not possible, by telephoning me or sending me an email.

You must give at least 48-hours’ notice. Failure to attend an appointment will be charged at full price, with no refund available.

Cancellation by London Massage 4U

In the unfortunate event that I have to cancel your appointment, I will give you as much advance warning as possible. Where possible, you will be able to reschedule your appointment for a later date, or if that is not possible, a full refund will be offered.

Contraindications

You cannot receive massage therapy if you:

● Have eaten a heavy meal within two hours of the start of your therapy session.
● Consumed alcohol or non-prescribed drugs before or directly after massage.
● Are extremely weak or clinically exhausted with influenza or any viral illness.
Have a high temperature or infectious disease including infectious skin conditions.
● Have serious medical conditions such as cancer, serious heart disorder, stomach ulcers or other ailments of the internal organs.
● Have had major surgery in the last 12 months or minor surgery in the last 6 months.
● If you are pregnant, I am unable to offer any treatments.

On your first meeting with me, I will require you to complete a short questionnaire so that I have a full understanding of any health-related matters which may affect the massage treatment provided.

TERMS & CONDITIONS

By booking an appointment with London Massage 4U, you confirm that you have read and accepted these Terms & Conditions.

1. BOOKINGS AND PAYMENT
All appointments must be booked in advance through the online booking system or directly with the business.
Full payment may be required at the time of booking, unless otherwise stated.
Bookings are confirmed only once payment has been successfully received and you receive a confirmation email.

2. PRICES
All prices are listed in GBP and may be changed at any time without prior notice. The price confirmed at the time of booking will apply to that appointment.

3. CANCELLATIONS AND RESCHEDULING
Appointments cancelled or rescheduled less than 48 hours before the scheduled start time are non-refundable and the full treatment price will be retained.

Appointments cancelled or rescheduled 48 hours or more before the scheduled start time are eligible for a refund of the amount paid, less any non-refundable third-party card processing fees actually incurred by the business (for example, Stripe fees), unless a full refund is required by law.

Where possible, clients are encouraged to reschedule rather than cancel.

4. REFUNDS
Where a refund is due, it will be issued to the original payment method.
Refunds are processed as soon as reasonably possible, but the time it takes for funds to appear in the client’s account depends on the payment provider and bank.

5. LATE ARRIVAL
If you arrive late, your treatment time may need to be shortened in order to avoid affecting the next client’s appointment. The full appointment fee will still apply.
If you are significantly late, the appointment may need to be cancelled and treated as a late cancellation or no-show.

6. NO-SHOWS
If you do not attend your appointment without notice, the full treatment price will be retained.
If card details were provided to secure the booking, you authorise the business to charge the applicable cancellation or no-show fee in accordance with this policy.

7. PACKAGES, GIFT CERTIFICATES AND SUBSCRIPTIONS
Packages, gift certificates and subscription payments are non-refundable unless required by law.
They may be used only in accordance with their stated terms, expiry date and value.
If an appointment booked using a package, gift certificate or subscription code is cancelled or rescheduled less than 48 hours before the scheduled start time, or if the client does not attend, that session may be treated as redeemed or forfeited.

8. CLIENT HEALTH AND SUITABILITY
Clients are responsible for providing accurate and up-to-date health information at the time of booking and before treatment.
Please inform the business of any medical conditions, injuries, allergies, recent surgery, pregnancy, skin conditions, infections, medications, or other relevant concerns that may affect suitability for treatment.
The business reserves the right to refuse, modify, or discontinue treatment where, in professional judgment, treatment is not appropriate, safe, or in the client’s best interests.

9. PROFESSIONAL BOUNDARIES
Only professional massage and treatment services are provided.
Any inappropriate behaviour, abusive language, intoxication, harassment, or conduct that makes the therapist feel unsafe will result in the appointment being ended immediately and no refund will be given.

10. RESULTS AND LIABILITY
Individual results may vary depending on the client’s condition, lifestyle, medical history and aftercare.
No guarantee is given regarding specific outcomes.
To the fullest extent permitted by law, the business shall not be liable for any indirect or consequential loss arising from appointments, treatments, or cancellations.
Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits liability where this would be unlawful.

11. PERSONAL BELONGINGS
Clients are responsible for their own personal belongings. The business accepts no responsibility for loss or damage to personal items brought to the premises.

12. STATUTORY RIGHTS
Nothing in these Terms & Conditions affects your statutory rights. Where the law requires a full refund or different treatment of a cancellation, the business will comply with applicable law.
